This week the House of Commons was not sitting, to give Members of Parliament an opportunity to spend time in their ridings. I had a busy week following up with people who contacted my London office while I was in Ottawa. I was able to take one day off this week to spend time with my family, otherwise this week was filled with meetings and events in the community. I had the opportunity to visit with seniors and veterans, participate at a conference on poverty, and attend a ceremony for new citizens. I enjoy constituency weeks very much. They give me much needed perspective and reconnect me with the community.
Next week MPs return to Ottawa where the House will debate Privacy and Personal Information, continuing care for veterans, small businesses, health and fitness day and animal cruelty.
