Irene cares about our environment. She believes as the Member of Parliament that it is important to put words into action and to lead by example. Both in her constituency and on parliament hill, Irene and her staff have undertaken a number of steps to reduce the environmental footprint of her office and her work as your MP.

Bullfrog Power: Irene's constituency office is Bullfrog Powered, ensuring that revenue from her office electricity is used to help finance new green energy projects.

Carbon Offsets: As your MP, Irene has to travel regularly between Ottawa and her riding. Using carbon offsets, helps ensure new trees are planted to replenish our forests. Forests are natures most effective "carbon sinks", trapping carbon emissions and recycling them through the natural ecosystem.

The "Green Hill Program":Irene's office is proud to be a member of parliament's "Green Hill Program". This includes producing her monthly constituent newsletter through the House of Commons Printing Services which is the first printer in the Federal sector and one of only nine printers in Canada to receive EcoLogo certification!

Printer Cartridge Recycling:

Partnering with local business Ballmark, Irene is pleased to not only be able to ensure printer cartridges in her office are reused and recycled, but to also be able to extend this service to constituents. Constituents are welcome to drop off their empty printer cartridges at Irene's office during normal business hours to ensure they are reused or properly disposed of.

Programmable Thermostats:Why heat an office space overnight or on a weekend when no one is in? Irene's London office utilizes a programmable thermostat to keep energy costs down, saving energy, the environment, and your tax dollars.
