Improving Your Online Privacy
June 4th, 2013 - 5:21pm
In the digital age, your online privacy is a serious issue. Canada's privacy laws have not kept pace with rapid advancements in technology.
Data breaches affected the personal information of millions, yet most go unreported
Some major Canadian sites disclosed our personal data to third parties without consent
Cyber fraud is a growing problem, costing Canadians $76 million in 2012 alone
It is time this issue is addressed, and my colleague Charmaine Borg has introduced Bill C-475 to bring Canada's privacy laws into the digital age.
