March 19th, 2017 - 4:29pm
Been a part of a multicultural community gives us the opportunity to recognize and celebrate many different traditions. The western world celebrates January 1st as the new year. The Chinese New Year is celebrated later, based on the lunar calendar. Those of the Bahá'í faith celebrate their new year, Naw-Rúz on the vernal equinox. It is a festive event observed with meetings for prayer and music and dancing. It is celebrated throughout the countries of the Middle East and Central Asia, and by those of the Bahá'í faith here in London.
To those observing Naw-Rúz this March 19th, my sincere best wishes for a healthy, prosperous, and happy new year.
